Hand and Foot Pain

foot pain

In our many years of practice we have discovered a number of our patients not only have problems with their backs and necks but, also with their hands and feet! Although Dr. Canuel has been adjusting extremities (bones and joints of the hands, feet, arms, legs, elbows, knees, shoulders and hips) during this time we decided to take it one step further. Dr. Canuel became a member of the Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinics of America's fellowship program. Fellowship doctors complete a rigorous training program to become hand and foot experts in the chiropractic field.

"Hand and Foot Clinics of America has taken chiropractic to a whole different level. Our doctors are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of many of the most common ailments that patients suffer with involving the hands and feet." - Dr. Robert Fenell, founder of the Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinics of America.

Why Hands and Feet

Dr. Canuel is often asked how or why he began treating hands and feet. When he began chiropractic school in 1998 his wife, Wendy, had recently had foot surgery on both feet (Thanks Dr. Robert Dunne, Melbourne, FL). She asked him to learn as much as he could about the foot to help restore better mobility and function after surgery. So, he did! He would seek out seminars which included treatment protocols for both hands and feet in addition to the training he received at Logan College of Chiropractic.

After graduation he went immediately into private practice in 2001 and incorporated the chiropractic treatments of the hands and feet for those patients who needed it in addition to their spinal related conditions. There is a skill to adjusting all the tiny, individual bones of the hands and feet. He's spent years perfecting specific adjustment techniques to adjust all the tiny, individual bones in the hands and feet. Due to his passion for helping patients with hand and conditions he continues today with advanced training and techniques in this unique field of chiropractic.

Dr. Canuel was invited to participate in a national fellowship program of a small group of physicians, The Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinics of America where they meet several times each year for advanced training as well as weekly for conference calls and online forum chats. He is now trained and endorsed by the national organization.
